We lost a champion and friend of Tilles Center this week, way too soon. Kenneth “Kenny D” DiCamillo was a veteran talent agent who worked for many years at WME and had recently started his own agency based in Oyster Bay. Over the course of his career, Kenny worked with such legends as Aretha Franklin, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Patti LaBelle, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Regis Philbin and many more. To us at Tilles Center, Kenny was the legend. A longtime member of our Board of Advisors, Kenny was particularly dedicated to and instrumental in the success of our Arts Education programs and Swing for Kids golf outings. Besides that, he was just the best guy ever. Always kind, always generous, and always making us laugh and smile. He will be deeply, deeply missed. Our hearts go out to his beautiful wife and daughter. May Kenny Rest in Peace.

Happy Diwali 2023! Diwali is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals in India. It is popularly known as the festival of lights, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Diwali is a time for family gatherings, exchanging gifts, enjoying sumptuous feasts, and, most importantly, sharing love and good wishes with one another. We’d like to share that Brooklyn Raga Massive, an adventurous musicians’ collective that creates cross-cultural understanding through the lens of South Asian classical music, brings the ensemble, Tradition to Innovation, to Tilles Center's Krasnoff Theater on Sunday, November 19 at 3 pm. The program is a perfect introduction to audiences new to the genre of Indian Classical music. The term "raga" refers to a melodic mode in Indian music. Musicians Neel Murgai, Arun Ramamurthy, Damond Banks, Aaron Shag, Mir Naqibul, and Kane Mathis will take you on a journey, beginning with pure classical ragas from India and traveling towards contemporary adaptations in America. While standing on the shoulders of giants like Ravi Shankar and John Coltrane, the ensemble will present their original visions of raga music, reflective of their experiences with communities and cultures from across the world. Shybunko-Moore is the CEO and Owner of GSE Dynamics Inc., a Woman Owned Small Business, and a U.S. Defense Manufacturer. She serves in many local, regional and national leadership roles, and is known for her efforts with regional workforce training initiatives and work on behalf of veterans, including with the United Veterans Beacon House, whose mission it is to help homeless veterans on Long Island.
